Matt McCready

Matt McCready is a doctoral candidate in Communication & Culture at Toronto Metropolitan University. He studies the effects of New Media (e.g. AI, social media, VR) on social processes (e.g. intimacy, friendship, identity, social engagement, social experience). His dissertation research investigates the effects of AI and social media on social processes during emerging adulthood. Matt is committed to translating complex research findings and emerging ideas from the field into publicly accessible forms of media, including text, video, and public speaking.
